LOCATION
Bristol is a rural suburb of Chicago and Milwaukee. It is directly adjacent to 41/94 and just across the state line near Gurnee. Bristol is a convenient commute to Chicago, the North Shore, Northwest suburbs, Lake Geneva and Milwaukee. It takes approximately 35 minutes to get to Bristol from Lake-Cook Road on the Expressway which is why Bristol has attracted many residents from Chicagoland.
Bristol is an increasingly popular equestrian community of Chicagoland. Bristol is lovely horse country, just down the street from the possible Olympic Games Equestrian site in Lake County and a wide variety of existing horse, veterinary and competition facilities. The Town of Bristol is composed of working farms, horse and weekend properties, lake houses and village homes. Bristol has good schools and many family friendly neighborhoods. As rural Lake County rapidly disappears, Bristol remains one of the last rural enclaves in the Chicago area.
